I truly hope that you and your family are doing very well! But, if you think life is not treating you nicely, hanging there brothers and sisters, he is good and things will be getting better.

So, I’m feeling more like a Chinese now, (not saying I wasn’t, but just getting more comfortable with the “reverse culture shock”.)

Here I wanna to share few things that are happening in my life, China, family, and some other randoms thoughts.

1. Ministry

This is kind of a big word for me! But yeah, I’m reaching out to my inner circles for him! It’s exciting to be at here just to think what should I do next to invite friends to do things, to let them maybe to know a little bit of him. It reminded me dear Kathy and Mike Cain in Riverside, I now have more knowledge on how do they think and plan activities to get more international students involved! I am a ISI(www.isionline.org) person in my own country to do the same thing like they are? haha. Pretty cool:)

Also, the new underground chu-ch (approximately 50 people) I’ve connected with is really a place to build things up and for me to learn!  This group is mainly for college students and young working professionals, so our level of spirituality and understandings of him are kinda varies. But they have a great learning atomosphere, (I guess all Chinese do, haha). Last weekend we went to a retreat together in a place near Shanghai called “The Farm, Famliy and Happiness”, hehe. Chickens in the farm will “wake” you up around 5 am in the morning, then that was perfect for us to get up and start our early prayer meetings. That was the first time in my life to got up before 6am and then started to pray&worship for 30 mins straight. Wasn’t easy but super fun, try it:)!

Got to know most of the brothers and sisters during the weekend, about half of them went to or still go to the Tongji University, which happen to be the BIG rival of my University, Fudan in Shanghai. Haha, that’s like Stanford and Cal. hahaha. We fought!  No, just kidding, no voilence in China:)  But yeah, it was very fun and informative experiences, since many of them were majored(ing) in archtechture  and design:)

What attracts me the most about this undergroud Ch–ch, theres about 10 of them who are EXTREMELY knowledgeable in him, I was like ” wow…. you are good!” That was absolutely surprise and keeps me on going there and LEARN!

In the mean time, I’m think strategically to “recruit” my old friends in Shanghai to do things with me and ultimately, to know him. Should I call this the new “pursuit of happiness”. Praise him.

Emm, then comes up my business venture. I’m running own things by providing international summer camps opportunity to kids and students (10-18 yrs) in China to go to the States, vice versa, from the States to China. This is me and my partner’s will, but in the end, I know realize that the person who really makes the final decision is our father, if he says yes, we’ll be fine, otherwise, I’ll just keep on eating franch fry and pastas. haha. No way.

Then, my parents.  Having GREAT times so far with my mom. Will keep doing the right things and praying. Don’t know what’s next, but will keep trying.

Now, with no specific expectations on things but rather just to focus on building up kingdom for him and developing my business ventures in China, (wow, that’s a lot!) my first month in China was NOT as productive as I’ve wished. Since I’m kind of giving self a whole month break after overwhelming from a different life in the U.S..

Anyways, here are some thoughts and things I’d like to share.

1. Let’s starts from my mom, mom and I we are still in the process of knowing each other since we’ve been apart for years. This is not easy b/c she and I have fairly different life styles and personalities, I guess many people will say that there is a “gap” between them and parents, yeah my is little bit of different than just gaps.
She cooked for me a couple of times and I can tell that from having meals together she felt loved, so did I. It’s very sweet, Chinese type of sweet…
Can I say “She is my first target for the Kingdom?” yes, like today after I watched the service called “Families make a difference” from Past-r Rick Warren’s Saddleback. I told her “mom, I so wish you know English, I just learned something awesome from a great place in Orange County.” She knows the fact I was talking about the Ch–stian–y but then somehow she skipped the subject. Oh, well. I’ll keep asking our father to help me out.

2. I am now more convinced that our father brought me back to China has his purpose. I’ve been ask him to arm me with his wisdom, integrity, generosity and discipline to live my life. Old friends from the University in Shanghai plus new faces from an Expats’ volleyball league(my team have lost two games straight already, Shamy and Donald, we need you two:). Point I wanted to make was it’s amazing how our father is planning meetings and adventures for me, I now perceive every chance to hang out with others is opportunity to make him or her a brother or sister in him. This is fairly new and dramatic to me though.

3. Guess what? I had my first underground Chu-ch experience in downtown Shanghai!@! That was a great eye opening to me! An ISI couple from the bay area who are now teachers in a Chinese University hooked me up with another returnee Joe, the place was at his “family meeting’s” spot. About 50 of us have showed up at the small Chinese apartment! Yes, 50+ of us all sit in the living room!! I had a bit of “reverse culture shock” by seen each of us were all sitting on a super tiny Chinese chair while listening to the service(3 testimonies).
The small group time was also a hit to me, it opened my mind to know how well learned and rich in his spirit our group members were. I later called these sisters the “living bib-e dictionary”, haha. I was, still am very happy to see how our father is working in this country. Future is good, and hope is always alive.

4. We need to figure this out together.
Surprised that Chinese Gov didn’t block the internet accesses to some chu-ch’s websites from the States. I have a goal now is to go asking P- Rick Warren the Saddleback and Billy Graham’s foundation to put Chinese language transcripts onto their online video services. I personally found tremendously helpful to connecting him through watching services and sermons online, and I believe, there are SO MANY Chinese students, young working professionals and lost people who will like to know him through this channel. Agree?
Seriously, technology has changed our life….
Anyways, helps and helpers are needed, let me know if you are interested to serve him by helping the Chinese out.

Gotta keep this short, will write more soon on things like business and China in general from my eye.
